Apfel Zet, established in 1997, is a Berlin-located studio with a special focus on ornamental and vintage design. The three designers Jarek Sierpinski, and Roman and Julia Bittner studied design and illlustration at the Academie of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. For the past 10 years, Molly Moodward has been photographing environmental typography and organizing her images by place and category on VernacularTypography.com. She just started a Kickstarter Campaign to help build up her digital archive. It’s a beautiful project which helps preserve and promote the vanishing examples of lettering in the everyday environment.
